Well, it happened again!!  I was fortunate enough to spend the day with these first time parents anxiously awaiting the birth of their first child. Although they did not find out the sex of the baby, nor had they fully committed to a name, there's no doubt this baby meant way more than anything in the world to them.

Jenn contacted me several months ago about photographing the birth, and I was so excited to hear from her. I'm always so thrilled to receive birth inquiries!
Baby Wu was due Memorial Day weekend ( ish ) but decided on Wednesday May 25th to make his/her appearance.

Jenn texted me around 7:30 a.m., and we continued to talk regarding how she was progressing. Around 10:30 a.m. I got the text that she was at 7-8 cm and that I should head that way. I jumped in the car, and just like that, the adventure ( for me ) was beginning!

I'll tell ya - although Jenn got to 7-8 cm pretty quickly, once I arrived things slowed down a bit. We sat and talked. We shared stories. We drank bad coffee ;) We talked about being pregnant, being a nurse, cycling, and baby names. These two don't have any family here in Memphis so I kinda felt as if I was standing in for a moment. Ya know, just hanging out in the hospital room with a good friend or sister waiting on Baby Wu to arrive!

And then it was time ...

And after about an hour or so of pushing SHE was here! Baby Wu was a girl! The tears started flowing. These moments right here are what it's all about!

I can't say enough about the team at Methodist Germantown. Nurse Cami - I'm so glad I met you! To all the nurses, the doctor's, and especially the Wu's - THANK YOU!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to photograph what truly is a miracle - the gift of LIFE! Welcome to world Baby Wu! We're so glad to have you!
