Dana + Sam || Memphis Wedding Photographer
Well this will be a different post, in so many ways. It’s completely out of order from my weddings shot this past year as Dana & Sam were married Thanksgiving weekend and I’ve already blogged my December 2014 weddings. I guess that’s what happens when your best friend is your Matron of Honor/Photographer! I was so honored to take this journey with my friend, Dana. We have been friends since freshmen year of highschool, we were college roommates, and we have pretty much been through it all. Needless to say I was ecstatic when Sam came into the picture. I still remember the night they met … like it was yesterday. I watched their relationship grow and I kept waiting … when will he propose???? Then it happened. I still have the voicemail on my phone. They were in New Orleans, visiting Dana’s family, and Sam popped the question. In true Christen form, I missed the call when it came in, I just heard the voicemail. Â I knew immediately. I could tell in her voice. He had proposed. Then came the pics! I cried. Tears of happiness that my best friend had found the man of her dreams! And I was going to be there … for all of it.
Now, here’s something most of you may not know. I have only ever been a bridesmaid once in my life. Â Well twice but the first time I was in 6th grade and I really don’t think that counts. I was in my friend Susan’s wedding in college but that’s it! Can you imagine? Most of my girlfriends have a collection of bridesmaids dresses. I, on the other hand, have been most of my friends wedding photographers. So you can imagine my excitement when my BFF says “You will not be working my wedding. You will be my Matron of Honor.” EKKKKKKK! Â Now, I still took care of her photography. My associate, Donnis, shot all the parts of the wedding that I wasn’t able to.
We headed over to Memorial Park for their First Look …
I did help in the planning a bit too. Don’t get me wrong Dana knew exactly what she wanted but I put in some good words. Like these flowers … beautiful job by L & Jay Productions.
Dana & I are very lucky to have a friend, Andrea, that is an AMAZING baker and cook. She did all of Dana’s desserts and I keep hoping that someday she will bake for a living!
To Dana & Sam … two of my favorite people in this world … I love you both and wish you many many years of happiness and BABIES! Muah!
